Woolworths State Titles presented by GLOBE Round 1

Published on 25/02/2024

The 2024 Woolworths Junior State Titles, presented by Globe, kicked off with a thrilling start at The Dump over the weekend, marking the beginning of the 3-round series.

The picturesque setting offered ideal conditions with enjoyable 3-foot waves attracting a large number of young surfers from all corners of the State to the Fleurieu Peninsula for the inaugural round.

The competition witnessed remarkable performances, Keira Hunt and King Cairns clinched victories in the Under 18 divisions. In the Under 16 categories, Noah Keelan and Keira Hunt emerged triumphant, while Seth Baillie and Isla Kindstrom showcased dominance in the Under 14 Division. Leo Wilson secured the top spot in the Under 12 Boys division.

Throughout the day, standout performances captivated spectators, with Noah Keelan’s exceptional rail surfing and powerful maneuvers, King Cairns and Mitchell Henderson’s impressive aerial skills, Seth Baillie’s consistent excellence in the U14 Boys category, and Keira Hunt’s stellar performance across multiple divisions wining both the U16 and U18 Girls.

The Junior Surfing Series, comprising three rounds, accommodates both male and female surfers across age groups from Under 12 to Under 18. This series serves as the pathway for selecting state representatives for the 2024 Australian Junior Surfing Titles, scheduled to take place in NSW later this year. The next round of the series is slated for April 7th on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

The organizers extend their gratitude to sponsors Woolworths and GLOBE Brand for their invaluable support. For those seeking more information about surfing events or programs in South Australia, visit www.surfingsouthaustralia.com.au and follow Surfing SA’s social media channels.
