Help Preserve South Australia’s Surfing History

Published on 24/08/2026

Steve from Daily Grind, with support from Surfing South Australia, is looking to establish a surfing display and museum at his premises in McLaren Vale, celebrating the early days of surfing in South Australia.

To help bring this project to life, we are seeking memorabilia and other items that reflect this important era in our state’s surfing history. This could include surfboards, photographs, posters, magazines, clothing, equipment, or any other items that capture the people, places and culture of surfing in South Australia’s early years.

If you have something from this era that you think would be suitable for display and would be willing to loan it for a period of time for a free public exhibition at Daily Grind, we would love to hear from you.

Please contact Steve at Daily Grind if you have an item, photograph or story that you would like to share and help preserve for future generations.

Help us celebrate and preserve the history of surfing in South Australia.
