Woolworths Junior State Titles presented by Globe 2023 Round 3

Published on 26/03/2023

The third and final deciding round of the 2023 Woolworths Junior State Titles presented by GLOBE was held at The Dump beach on the Fleurieu Peninsula over the weekend.

Surf was a fun 2-3ft allowing for some great contest surfing with many surfers having to place well in the third round to secure their positions in the South Australian Junior Surfing Team to compete at the Australian Junior Surfing Championships later this year at Phillip Island, Victoria.

There were a number of standout performances during the day but special mention has to go to Maia Taite who dominated her heats and was clearly the standout surfer on the day.

Meg Day (Corny Point) and Indi DeBono (Middleton) took out the U18 Division girls and boys respectively. The Under 16 Boys went to King Cairns (Port Noarlunga) with Maia Taite (Seaford) taking the girls. Under 14 winners were Priya Jakwhal (Port Noarlunga South) and Ashton Crowley (Port Noarlunga South)

The Surfing SA Junior Team to compete at Phillip Island later this year will be announced in the coming weeks.

We would like to thank our Sponsors Woolworths for the series and GLOBE Brand for their support of junior surfing in South Australia.
