Arley Partridge Set for National Judging Opportunity

Published on 24/08/2026

Surfing South Australia is continuing its commitment to strengthening the future of competitive surfing by investing in the development of its judging pathway—an essential part of delivering fair, high-quality events for all surfers.

As part of this focus, Surfing SA has nominated Arley Partridge to attend the Australian Junior Surfing Titles in Western Australia later this year. This opportunity represents an important step in building judging depth and experience within the state.

Arley first came to attention earlier this year at the Junior Surfing Festival, where he demonstrated strong potential as a developing judge. His performance also impressed NSW Head Judge Jamie Killorn, who Surfing SA brought over to help oversee and support the judging panel during the event.

Sending Arley to the Australian Junior Surfing Titles will provide valuable exposure to national-level judging, allowing him to further develop his skills in a high-performance environment. This experience is a key part of Surfing SA’s broader strategy to upskill its judging cohort, ultimately benefiting our entire surfing community.

While Surfing SA is proud of its current judging team and the current leadership within it, there is a clear focus on continuing to build experience and capability across the board. Opportunities like this not only benefit the individual but strengthen the entire judging network, as knowledge and insights are shared upon return.

Looking ahead, Surfing SA plans to continue this momentum hoping to bring Jamie Killorn back to South Australia in early 2027 to support judging at the Junior Surfing Festival. This ongoing collaboration will further elevate judging standards and provide valuable mentoring opportunities for local officials.

By investing in people like Arley and creating pathways for development, Surfing South Australia is ensuring that its competitions are judged with consistency, confidence, and professionalism—ultimately benefiting junior surfers and the wider competitive community.

This is all part of a long-term vision: building a stronger, more skilled judging panel that supports the growth of the sport at every level.
