MISSION

To identify, nurture, and develop the next generation of Australian female surfing talent, while building a strong and sustainable female national coaching network that empowers and supports their long-term success

ABOUT

Talent UNLSHD will deliver state and national development activity for Australia’s leading U18 pre-emerging women and girls.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA UPDATE

Each state will select athletes to take part in regular coaching sessions and regional camps.

South Australia’s first regional squad comprises of Allegra Caretti, April Koch, Esther Canteri, Florence Caretti, Julieta Diaz, Lola Jackson, Priya Jakhwal & Sunny Washington. Surfers are based in the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Recently the girls have been involved in weekend trainings & after school sessions in person & online, all having set priority goals to work on throughout the year.

In July they will attend their regional training camp at Surfing Australia’s HPC and are soon to start a strength & conditioning program at the new South Australian Sports Institute training facility at Mile End.

The program also focuses on developing female surf coaches in each region and the girls will be lucky enough to work with our South Australian coaches Cheryl Peat, Ellie Francis, Poppy Sweetman & Meg Day.  The coaches themselves will get the opportunity to be mentored by experienced female coaches from around Australia such as Chelsea Hedges & Kate Wilcomes.
