The Southern Surf Festival made a stunning return to Middleton Point at the weekend, drawing massive crowds across Saturday and Sunday.
The weather was amazing and competitors could not have asked for better surf conditions making for a spectacular weekend of South Australian surfing celebration.
The event which celebrates South Australian surf culture, is a highlight on the state’s calendar that draws thousands of visitors from around the state.
Surfing SA spokesperson Craig Potgieter thanked the community and sponsors for their support.
“We were fortunate to receive support from several generous sponsors within the community, without whom this event wouldn’t be possible,” Mr. Potgieter expressed. “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to those who have contributed; the surfing community deeply appreciates your support. This event stands as a testament to the vibrant surfing culture in South Australia. Also, our sincere thanks go out to all the volunteers whose dedication is indispensable in making this event a reality.”
While competitors hit the water, spectators enjoyed a wide range of market stalls and entertainment.
Across two days, various competitions were held, catering to surfers of varying abilities and disciplines.
Young and old hit the water and lifestyle, club and fun board events were packed with participants looking to get involved.
